Michael Ward, GRI, began his career in real estate in 1980, has consistently been one of the top-producing brokers in the Telluride region. He has achieved several sales records. In the Town of Telluride, he sold the most expensive condo (2005), second most-expensive home (2006), most single family homes (2006), and most expensive development property (2013). In Mountain Village, he sold the most expensive condo and the highest price per square foot for a single family residence (2003), the most expensive single-family lot (2004), and the most expensive development property (2011). Michael was a key participant in the development of three major condo projects, Viking Lodge in Telluride, and the Lorian condos and Villas at Cortina in Mountain Village, as well as two hotel projects, The Hotel Telluride and an unnamed hotel in Mountain Village. He is also a partner in the development of the Telluride Transfer project in Telluride, a 2.2 acre mixed use site. Michael has owned two successful real estate companies in Telluride, Alpine Lodging & Real Estate, and Courtney-Ward and Associates, the #3 firm in town during its existence, and was a Vice President and Managing Broker at Telluride Sotheby’s International Realty for 11 years. Michael has been actively involved in leadership in the Colorado and Telluride Associations of Realtors. He served a year as President of the Telluride Association of Realtors and their Realtor of the Year, six years on their Board of Directors, and a year as the Colorado Association of Realtors' Southwest District Vice President. As such, he is intimately familiar with the wide range of issues affecting real estate transactions. He obtained his GRI in 1991, a designation awarded by the National Association of Realtors to a select group of Realtors who have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the residential real estate industry.
